Pearl White
Smooth and slightly cool, almost no texture
Speckled White
Bright white with a light grain, the classic choice
Cool Grey
Neutral mid-tone that makes highlights pop
Shaded White
White that fades into soft grey, adds depth behind the face
Cream
Warm off-white, great for sepia and sanguine
Ivory
Fine paper tooth, like quality drawing paper
Blush Beige
Soft pinkish tone that flatters skin
Light Kraft
Sandy and warm, but not too dark
Kraft Brown
Classic toned paper for charcoal with white highlights
Sage Grey
Muted green tone for moody portraits
How to use them
  • Print it
Print on matte paper and draw right on top with pencil, charcoal or pastels.
  • Import it
Drop it into Procreate or Photoshop as the bottom layer and start sketching.
  • Test your palette
Try the same portrait on two different backgrounds and see how the mood changes.
